It is important for you as a tenant to have valid home insurance! Unfortunately, we notice that more and more people do not have it.
If you do not have valid home insurance in the event of, for example, a fire or water damage, you may be liable to pay for restoring the damages that occurred during the accident in the apartment.
Moreover, if it turns out that you were involved in causing the damage, you may also be liable for damages that occurred outside your apartment.
This is how home insurance works
A home insurance consists of the following parts:
Property protection (content) – can compensate you for lost or damaged items in the event of theft or fire, for example.
Liability protection (indemnity protection) – can cover costs for damages if the policyholder is deemed liable for compensation.
Legal protection (legal counsel) – can cover the policyholder’s costs for legal counsel in a legal dispute.
Assault protection – can provide compensation if the policyholder is assaulted.
Travel protection – valid for 45 days, or with some companies for 60 days, which among other things covers medical expenses and a possible air ambulance.
