
They buzz, are a bit nasty, and spread quickly. But there are simple tricks to get rid of them.
Place a bowl with vinegar, a bit of honey, and a few drops of dish soap. The flies are attracted to the vinegar and honey and then drown thanks to the dish soap which removes surface tension, causing them to sink straight to the bottom.
But it’s just as important to take out the trash every day and keep the trash bin clean. And get rid of empty soda and wine bottles as they quickly attract flies.
Fruit keeps best at room temperature, but during the summer it might be good to deviate from that and put them in the fridge to avoid having flies lay eggs.
