The Rent Negotiations Have Stalled

This year’s rent negotiations between KFAB and the Tenants’ Association have stalled. The matter has now been referred to the Rental Market Committee for mediation.

The current global situation has led to an increase in everyday costs for both individuals and KFAB as a company. To ensure that we can continue to maintain our properties and manage our housing sustainably in the future, the rent increase will need to be higher than usual.

– We have had five negotiation meetings but unfortunately have not been able to reach an agreement. We interpret the model found in the tripartite agreement between the Tenants’ Association, Public Housing, and Property Owners differently, and based on this, we arrive at completely different levels. At present, we do not know exactly how high the increase will be; this will be determined in dialogue with the Tenants’ Association. Right now, we are not fully in agreement, which is why the matter has been referred to the Rental Market Committee, and we are now awaiting their interpretation, says KFAB’s CEO Ingmar Eriksson.
